COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR MY SKIN TO IMPROVE?
A. It depends entirely on your skin and strength and type of regime used. Most our patients start to notice improvements straight away, but a full skin turnover takes up to 18 weeks.
Depending on the nature of the problem, maintenance treatment may be necessary, and patients with particularly sensitive or damaged skin may require gentler approach which may take longer to achieve full results.

Q. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO BEFORE THE TREATMENT CAN COMMENCE?
A. Following the initial consultation, your treating doctor will prescribe a home care regime which needs to be followed for 6 - 18 weeks in order to fully treat and prepare the skin for optimal results. If after this time peel is still needed, it will have better results due to the skin being well prepared
However, after full skin rejuvenation takes place, peels may not even be necessary.

Q. WHAT WILL MY SKIN BE LIKE AFTER I START USING NU DERM OR OR AFTER THE PEEL?
A. Most of our patients are able to carry on their daily activities, however, Nu-Derm is so effective because it causes complete skin turnover, which includes a period of time in which the skin may become dry, flaky or red. This can be alleviated by other soothing lotions, but in itself is a is a necessary stage in skin rejuvenation process. As the skin gets gradually used to to the treatment, these effects subside.
Likewise, after Obagi peel, there is a small amount of downtime, until the superficial layer of the skin peels revealing fresh and youthful skin underneath.
We ask you to use a sunscreen with SPF 25+ during your treatment with skin serums as well as after a peel in order to avoid sun damage.
