IPL AND LASER TREATMENTS
NOTE: We are currently not providing these treatments due to a short hiatus necessery to upgrade our equipment. Please check the website frequently or call 01440 762 116 to find out when will these treatments be available again.
Laser and Intense pulsed Light (IPL)
treatments work on the principle of selective
thermolysis. By targeting the treatment area using a
wavelenghth which will be best selectively absorbed by
the target tissue, the damage to surrounding tissues and
structures is avoided. Laser and IPL target various
compounds, such as melanin in the hair and pigmented
lesions, blood in vessels, capillaries and vascular
lesions or ink in tattoos.
The difference between IPL and Laser is that light
delivered from IPL device comes from a White Light source
(a mixture of many different wavelengths) and is focused
into a specific wavelenghths by an appropriate filter.
Laser, on the other hand comes from Monochromatic Light
and delivers one specific wavelenghth of light at the
time.
At Dr Bowen's Skin Clinic we only use state of the art brand new IPL and Laser technology, which combines a variety of light sources to provide accurate and most appropriate wavelengths for treatment of vast majority of skin conditions, unlike some clinics, who rely on older equipment requiring many different laser and IPL machines needed to cover the full therapeutic spectrum we currently offer.
In our clinic you can rest assured you are in Safe Hands
as we are the only establishment within 30 mile radius fully registered with Health Care Commission
, which is a legal requirement for any Clinic or Hospital operating IPL or Class 3 Lasers.
INTENSE PULSED LIGHT:
650nm IPL
This treatment is ideal for removal of unwanted hair as well as for skin rejuvenation which works by promoting collagen synthesis for a reduction in pore size, subtle improvement to fine lines and wrinkles and general enhancement in overall appearance of the skin.
585plus
Ideal for treatment of:
- Benign, pigmented epidermal lesions (such as freckles, age and sun spots and seborrheic keratoses)
-Vascular irregularities including facial telangiectasia, spider naevi, Rosacea, port wine stains, Campbel de Morgan spots).
-Mild to moderate inflammatory acne, and for subtle improvement in specific acne scars.
Nd:YAG LASER:
1064nm Long Pulsed Nd:YAG
This is ideal for the treatment of:
-Removal of hair in all skin types.
-Leg thread veins with diameter of 0.5 - 4mm.
-Treatment of vascular irregularities such as spider naevi, Campbell de Morgan spots and deeper facial veins such as those that appear around the nose.

1064nm Q-Switch Nd:YAG
Q-Switch is a device inserted into the Laser to produce
very short (nanoseconds), high-energy pulse (which,
compared with milisecond long pulses in IPL are about a
milion times faster). This also creates a photomechanical
effect in the skin. This modality is used in treatment of:
- tattoo removal of Black/Blue/Brown inks
- treatment of Dermal pigmented lesions such as Naevus of Ota and Beckers Naevus.
532nm Q-Switch Nd:YAG
