MUSCLE RELAXANT INJECTIONS
The non surgical management of facial lines and wrinkles
has become a revolutionary treatment in medical aesthetics,
helping millions of people achieve beautiful and radiant skin.
The muscle relaxant effects of the medication, when used safely,
remove the tell tale signs of ageing and allow the skin to
return to its youthful appearance.
Since the development of Botox®, these treatments have
been performed by doctors worldwide to treat a variety
of cosmetic conditions particularly movement related wrinkles
in the upper third of the face. Areas most commonly treated
include frown and forehead lines and crow’s feet around
the eyes. You will have the opportunity to discuss all treatment
options in great detail with your treating doctor to perfectly tailor the treatment to your needs.
In our clinic you will always be asessed and treated according to your individual requirements, and only by experienced resident doctors, so you can rest assured you are in Safe Hands
The muscle relaxant typically used for this purpose is a derivative of botulinum toxin
and when injected properly and in extremely small doses into the problem
area it affects the underlying muscle by allowing it to relax
completely. This smoothens out the existing wrinkles and prevents
the formation of new ones.
Since it has a reversible effect, it is recommended that in the first year 3-4 treatments are applied to each area to maintan optimal appearance of the skin. After that, top-ups of 1-2 treatments per year are normally required as the muscles treated become less strong.
Any remaining lines that are etched into the skin can be treated with variety of other treatments including dermal filler products
This treatment is also used very effectively to decrease
excessive underarm sweating and you can read more about that
in our section on axillary
hyperhidrosis.
