What is SculptraTM?
SculptraTM is an injectable treatment that stimulates the body's own collagen to smooth out lines and wrinkles. SculptraTM also restores lost facial volume gradually giving you a fuller, younger looking face.

Suitable areas for SculptraTM
Unlike some dermal fillers which will only treat individual lines and wrinkles SculptraTM actually treats most areas of your face that may be concerning you e.g.

- Lines, wrinkles and folds
- Lines between your nose and mouth (nasolabial folds)
- Lines around the corners of your mouth
- Wrinkles in the cheeks and chin

Why SculptraTM?
SculptraTM works gradually to give a natural effect. Usually 2-3 treatments are required and results should be noticeable after approximately 6 weeks, (however, in some patients this may take longer or require more treatments). Clinical studies have shown that the results of SculptraTM can last for up to 2.5 years following your last treatment, significantly longer than many other injectable treatments. No allergy testing is required before treatment, unlike some other products. The main ingredient of SculptraTM has been used in medicine for over 25 years and has an excellent safety profile. Q. IS THIS TREATMENT SAFE?
A. This treatment has been used in medicine for over 10 years and it has proven to be exceptionally safe in cosmetic treatments, but only if performed by a trained and registered medical professional. In our clinic you will be treated only by a fully qualified doctor specifically trained and experienced in these procedures which further minimizes the possibility of any side effects. Q. WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS?
A. Side effects are very rare but include lumpiness at the injection site, which is avoided by following post-procedure instructions. Immediately after, your skin will appear slightly swollen, and this will completely dissapear over the next day or two. Otherwise, you may notice an occasional small bruise which will also resolve and apart from that there should be no other side effects.

Q. IS SCULPTRA TREATMENT PAINFUL?
A. The treatment is not painful but you may experience a mild discomfort. We apply topical anaesthetic cream before the treatment in order to make it as painless as possible.

Q. HOW SOON WILL THE TREATMENT WORK AND HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
A. You will start to see improvement after 6 weeks of your first treatment. That is the length of time body needs to deposit new collagen. To obtain the optimal result you may need 3 or more treatments in total. The effect lasts over 3 years

Q. WHAT I CAN AND CAN NOT DO AFTER THE TREATMENT?
A. Immediately after your Sculptra treatment you will be advised on a home massage regime in order to facilitate correct dispersal of medication in your skin. It is recommended that make up is not applied for 12 hours after the procedure although we are able to supply you with specialist mineral make-up that they feel would be suitable for use during this period. If you will be in daylight immediately after the procedure apply a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen with a SPF50. For the first 4 hours after the treatment you will be advised not to exercise vigorously, drink excessive alcohol or lie flat. Otherwise you can carry on your activities as normal.

Q. IS THIS TREATMENT SUITABLE FOR ME?
A. This treatment is exceptionally well tolerated, but in rare instances of problems with bleeding, keloid scarring and other skin diseases this treatment may not be suitable.
